Common Questions

Simple answers for your everyday banking. We’re here to help you manage your money with confidence and ease.

Are there any limits for sending and receiving money with Zelle®?

+

The amount of money you can send, as well as the frequency, is set by each participating financial institution. To determine D.L. Evans Bank send limits, call our customer service team at 1-833-393-0022.

At D.L. Evans Bank there are no limits to the amount of money you can receive with Zelle®. However, remember that the person sending you money will most likely have limits set by their own financial institution on the amount they can send you.

When can I close my old account?

+

Keep your old account open and funded until every switch shows as Completed on your Switch Status page and any outstanding payments have cleared. Closing too early can cause a missed payment or a returned deposit. Once everything has moved across and your final transactions have settled, you're safe to close it.

Can I reverse or cancel a payment?

+

No, Zelle® payments cannot be reversed.

You can only cancel a payment if the person you sent money to hasn't yet enrolled with Zelle®. To check whether the payment is still pending because the recipient hasn't yet enrolled, go to your activity page, choose the payment you want to cancel, and select "Cancel This Payment." If you do not see this option, please contact our customer support team at 1-833-393-0022 for assistance with canceling the pending payment.

If the person you sent money to has already enrolled with Zelle® through their bank or credit union's mobile app or online banking, the money is sent directly to their bank account and cannot be canceled. This is why it's important to only send money to people you trust and always ensure you've used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money.

If you sent money to the wrong person, please immediately call our customer support team at 1-833-393-0022 to determine what options are available.

What do I need to get started?

+

You'll need your SwitchTRACK code, which your branch provides when you open your D.L. Evans Bank account, plus the account details for the payments and deposits you want to move. If you don't have your code, contact your local branch and we'll get you set up.

What can I switch with ClickSWITCH?

+

Two things. Your direct deposits, including payroll, government benefits such as Social Security or disability, and dividend payments from investment accounts. And your automatic payments: utilities, phone and internet, insurance premiums, streaming subscriptions, gym memberships, loan payments, and anything else that draws automatically from your old account.

What if I want to send money to someone whose bank or credit union doesn't offer Zelle®?

+

All users must be enrolled through one of the more than 2,200 banks and credit unions that offer Zelle® in order to send and receive money. You can find a full list of participating banks and credit unions at Zellepay.com. If their bank or credit union is not listed, we recommend you use another payment method at this time.

Can I switch government deposits like Social Security?

+

Yes. Government direct deposits including Social Security and disability payments can be switched through ClickSWITCH, the same way as a payroll deposit. Have your benefit details to hand when you submit the switch.

How do I use a Zelle® QR code?

+

Zelle® QR codes provide peace of mind, knowing you can send and receive money to the right person without typing an email address or U.S. mobile number. To locate your Zelle® QR code, log in to the D.L. Evans Bank mobile app, click "Send Money With Zelle®." Next, go to your Zelle® settings and click "Zelle® QR code," and your QR code will be displayed under "My Code." From here you can view your QR code and use the print or share icons to text, email, or print it.

To receive money, share your Zelle® QR code.

To send money, log in to the D.L. Evans Bank mobile app, click "Send Money With Zelle®," click "Send," then click the QR code icon displayed at the top of the "Select Recipient" screen. Once you allow access to your camera, simply point your camera at the recipient's Zelle® QR code, enter the amount, and hit "Send." When sending money to someone new, it's always important to confirm the recipient is correct by reviewing the displayed name before sending money.

What is ClickSWITCH?

+

ClickSWITCH is a fully automated service that moves your direct deposits and automatic payments from your old financial institution to your new D.L. Evans Bank account. You submit your switches in as little as 10 minutes, and ClickSWITCH handles the rest. No calling billers, no paper forms.

Can I pay a small business with Zelle®?

+

Some small businesses are able to receive payments with Zelle®. Ask your favorite small business if they accept payments with Zelle®. If they do, you can pay them directly from your D.L. Evans Bank mobile app using just their email address or U.S. mobile number.

Can I use ClickSWITCH if I already bank with D.L. Evans Bank?

+

Yes. ClickSWITCH isn't only for new accounts. If you have deposits or payments still running through another institution, or you want to move them between your D.L. Evans Bank accounts, ask your branch for a SwitchTRACK code.

Can I use Zelle® internationally?

+

No. To use Zelle®, both the sender's and recipient's bank or credit union accounts must be based in the U.S.

Are there any fees to send money using Zelle®?

+

D.L. Evans Bank does not charge fees to send or receive money with Zelle®, but there is a fee to cancel a Zelle® transaction that is still pending because the recipient hasn't yet enrolled. If the recipient doesn't enroll with Zelle® within 14 days, the payment will expire, the funds will be returned to your account, and no fees will be assessed. Your mobile carrier's messaging and data rates may apply.

What if one of my switches doesn't go through?

+

Your Switch Status page will show you exactly where it stands. If a switch stalls or a biller needs more information, you'll see it there, and your local branch team can help you sort it out. Contact your nearest branch or our support team and we'll pick it up with you.

Does D.L. Evans Bank or Zelle® offer purchase protection?

+

Neither D.L. Evans Bank nor Zelle® offers purchase protection for payments made with Zelle® — for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for, or the item is not as described or as you expected. Only send money to people and small businesses you trust, and always ensure you've used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money.

Is my information secure?

+

Keeping your money and information safe is a top priority for D.L. Evans Bank. When you use Zelle® within our mobile app or online banking, your information is protected with the same technology we use to keep your D.L. Evans Bank account safe.

How long does a switch take to complete?

+

Submitting your switches takes as little as 10 minutes. After that, each employer or biller processes the change on their own schedule, which typically takes 5 to 15 business days. Some are faster than others. You can follow every switch in real time on your Switch Status page and you'll see confirmation the moment each one moves across.

Who can I send money to with Zelle®?

+

Zelle® is a great way to send money to family, friends, and people you are familiar with, such as your personal trainer, babysitter, or neighbor.³

Since money is sent directly from your D.L. Evans Bank account to another person's bank account within minutes,³ Zelle® should only be used to send money to friends, family, and others you trust.

If you don't know the person or aren't sure you will get what you paid for (for example, items bought from an online bidding or sales site), you should not use Zelle®. These transactions are potentially high risk — just like sending cash to a person you don't know.

Do I need to contact my employer or my billers myself?

+

No, and that's the point of ClickSWITCH. Once you submit a switch, the service notifies each employer or biller on your behalf. There's nothing for you to print, mail, or phone in.

How do I use Zelle®?

+

You can send, request, or receive money with Zelle®. To get started, enroll or log into D.L. Evans Bank Online Banking and select "Send Money with Zelle®", accept the terms and conditions, select your email or U.S. mobile number, select your deposit account, and you are ready to send or receive money using Zelle®.

To send money using Zelle®, simply select someone from your mobile device's contacts (or add a trusted recipient's email address or U.S. mobile number), add the amount you'd like to send and an optional note, review, then hit "Send." The recipient will receive an email or text message notification via the method they used to enroll with Zelle®. Money is available to your recipient in minutes if they are already enrolled with Zelle®.³

To request money using Zelle®, choose "Request," select the individual from whom you'd like to request money, enter the amount you'd like, include an optional note, review and hit "Request." If the person you are requesting money from is not yet enrolled with Zelle®, you must use their email address to request money. If the person has enrolled their U.S. mobile number, then you can send the request using their mobile number.

To receive money, just share your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile number with a friend and ask them to send you money with Zelle®. If you have already enrolled with Zelle®, you do not need to take any further action. The money will be sent directly into your D.L. Evans Bank account, typically within minutes.³

If someone sent you money with Zelle® and you have not yet enrolled, follow these steps:

  1. Click the link provided in the payment notification you received via email or text message.

  2. Select D.L. Evans Bank.

  3. Follow the instructions provided on the page to enroll and receive your payment. Pay attention to the email address or U.S. mobile number where you received the payment notification — you should enroll with Zelle® using that email address or U.S. mobile number to ensure you receive your money.

What if I forget to include a payment or deposit?

+

You can log back into ClickSWITCH at any time and submit additional switches. There's no limit, and no need to start over. It's worth checking a few statements from your old account to catch anything that bills quarterly or annually.

Is my information secure?

+

Yes. ClickSWITCH uses current encryption standards to gather and store your switch information, and its facilities meet industry standards for handling personal data. Your D.L. Evans Bank account information is protected with the same technology we use across our online and mobile banking.

Is there a fee to use ClickSWITCH?

+

No. ClickSWITCH is free for D.L. Evans Bank customers.

I believe I have been the victim of a scam. Whom should I contact?

+

Please contact our customer support team at 1-833-393-0022. Qualifying imposter scams may be eligible for reimbursement.

My SwitchTRACK code isn't working. What should I do?

+

If you never activated your code and never set a password, the original code should still work as long as it's within 90 days. If you activated it and set a password but can't remember the password, you'll need a new code. Contact your branch and we'll generate one.

What is Zelle®?

+

Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way to send and receive money with friends, family and others you trust, even if they bank somewhere different than you.³ All you need is your recipient's email address or U.S. mobile number and money will be sent directly from your account to theirs in minutes.³ No account numbers are shared.

How long is my SwitchTRACK code valid?

+

Your code is valid for 90 days. If you don't use it within that window, your branch will need to generate a new one for you.

What do the switch statuses mean?

+

Your Switch Status page shows where each switch stands. Mailed means the request has gone to your employer or biller and is waiting for them to process it. Completed means they've confirmed the change and the payment or deposit is now going to your D.L. Evans Bank account. If a switch has been sitting at Mailed for 15 days or more, contact that company directly to confirm they received it.
